365. Lemmings

The only reason I know about this, is because I used to play video games like a crazy person back in the 90's. In 1992 I believe (?) Sunsoft released a game called Lemmings. It featured a horde of strange looking cartoon things that would mindlessly walk around and kill themselves if not directed to safety by the player.

As an inquisitive child, I researched what a lemming was because back then there wasn't a lot to do. I discovered that a lemming was a small flightless bird, native to some northern country. They kind of reminded me of quails. They would follow each other around, and sometimes off of cliffs. Because they were stupid.

30 years later, I discover that a lemming is now a kind of rodent. I imagine that nobody has ever heard of a lemming, let alone researched one so I imagine I'm alone in this. As usual.

As you can see, the creators of this game went to great lengths to insure that nobody would be able to discern what a lemming is based upon the artwork. IT USED TO  BE A BIRD.

364. SWIM.... mers ear.... or whatever

Every summer as a kid I would visit my family in Houston Texas, and every summer we would swim a lot. Until inevitably I would get an ear infection and spend 4 days in agony holed up in a spare room. A staple of these visits was the product Swimmer's Ear, which would help relieve my suffering at times.

Now my suffering is back. Because I don't ever remember using a product called swim-ear.

O.o
363. DISNEY'S …. nevermind it's DISNEY

Can anyone else remember "Disney's Alladin" or "Disney's The Lion King" or "Disney's whatever" ???? If you can, then I'm sorry. Welcome to your new reality. In THIS world, all of those movies we grew up with are simply "Disney -- insert title."

Seriously. They either say "Walt Disney" or "Disney." Never "Disney's."

… and the list goes on. Until you run out of films.

362. Universal Studios

In 2008, there was a fire at Universal that destroyed thousands of original recordings by music artists. Maybe hundreds of thousands. It was big. Really big.

And somehow, just recently, many music artists are just now finding out about this. They are understandably upset. You would think this would have been huge news for the world when it happened. And maybe it was? … we just never heard about it until now?

record deaths occur. GET IT? HA. ha. ...
