193. Again, welcome to a kinder gentler world

The Salem Witch Trials. I'd hope you've heard of this, I don't know. This non-comedic stain on the American past historically brought forth the phrase "burn them at the stake!" and inspired many many parodies including in The Simpsons, and Married With Children.

If you don't know, in a town called Salem MA, a long time ago, people were scared to death of witches hiding in the citizenry. They invented a variety of methods to see if someone was a denizen of evil, resulting in many women being burned at the stake. Probably innocent women too.

But anyhow. That never happened. I think all in all a total of 12 ladies were hung on a noose and that's the extent of it. Nobody was ever burned alive. USA! USA! USA!
