101. Changing music lyrics

I work for an establishment that has karaoke once a week. Of course I love to make an ass out of myself, so I sing whenever I can. Over the course of the past year, I've picked a pretty big roster of songs I can kind of sing. Now here is where I disconnect from everyone:

Many of these songs have changed. CHANGED. Lyrics are not the same as they used to be. They are small changes here and there, but for linguistically inclined people such as myself they're pretty easy to spot.

... I'll give one example. Stone Temple Pilots: Creep
The lyrics used to go "livin on the house, guess I'm livin I'm a mouse."

now the guy says "livin under(?) house, guess I'm livin I'm a mouse."

And there you have it. Someone fuct with STP. And Nirvana too I might add. And various other groups/singers.

*sigh*

EDIT: I guess you'd have to be a pretty big STP fan to figure this one out. Sorry peeps.

And, there's nothing like singing a song you know by heart, reading the lyrics on a screen, and then having to totally stop singing because they don't match your memory. Not good. Not good.
